Probability Basics

Topics:

Among the topics there are:

- Paradoxes

- Counting combinatorics

- And/or probabilities

- Conditional probabilities

- Overview of the high school material

Description:

This course is aimed to cover the main basics of discrete probability (i.e the one with rolling dice, tossing coins, GCSE-exams or equivalent, etc...), so the things that high schools usually cover, but much more clearly. Plus with many more examples for practise. Starting from pretty much zero, we will work on towards the more difficult theory and problems, while showing what was missing in a usual text book. Moreover, in contrast to many schools, lessons will be accompanied with many interesting problems and normal explanations. Finally, while being tailored for the needs of a young high-schooler, anyone wanting to see the basic maths of discrete probability will find this useful.

Next group lessons:

First steps into the world of making sense of mountains of data and interpreting your results. For this course the very basics of probability theory is a prerequisite.
