These ones have already happened... But please note that there is (or gonna be) a recording or a summary for some of them: click on the "Learn More" to check.
βChoice Predictorβ to be exact. For real: it's founded on maths and the fact that humans struggle to create random binary sequences.

There is a machine at the MIT Museum that is claimed to predict next human's choice. It was built by Claude Shannon, who claimed that we are not a great source of randomness. So let's check it ourselves in real time:Β we will use his ideas and create a corresponding program from scratches. And while doing so, we will talk about probabilistic theories around the process. No coding experience from you is required.

This Probolympiad part is about solving probabilistic brainteasers and problems on the spot for 2 hours. Then, after a short break, you will get the results and see who won the prizes. Moreover, you will also get the results of the "Home Part", as well as some comments from us. The biggest prizes are for those who do well in both Home and Live parts. This event is also open to high school pupils and students in their first two years of university.

When the day comes, we will release just one task on creating a maths algorithm in a probabilistic game. You can think from home, google, ask ChatGPT, ... do anything but asking another human being. Some basic programming skills in Python will be useful as well. Anyone in high school or in at most 2nd year of university is welcome to take part. The total worth of monetary prize(s) will be around 10$ x number of actual participants, so motivate your friends to take part :)

This is our first ever event! It is gonna be a free online event for the school pupils (last years) and first year uni-students who are or were involved in olympiads a lot. It is gonna a 45 minutes talk, run by Arsenii Nikolaiev, former IMO medalist and Quanta founder. The topic of the talk is "About probability for olympiad students": Why bother, few examples and some maths are gonna be a part of it.
